This weekend is a quilt show sponsored by the South Umpqua Historical Society. The show will be held at the Douglas County Fairgrounds, right off of I-5.
We are entering a crazy quilt made in 1890, by a daughter of Douglas County pioneers. Her name was Lillie Moore. Without her, there may have never been a museum in Roseburg, nor a “Douglas County Historical Society.” She played a pivotal part in that history here in Douglas County. The photos included here are some I took for our Umpqua Trapper article, “A Pictorial History of the Moore Family History.” The snapshot article about the article 😀 is here: http://www.douglascountyhistoricalsociety.org/…/a-pictoria…/
